In this op-ed, Leslie Suen, MD, MAS, explains the value of Overdose Prevention Centers (OPC), and use of a harm reduction framework as a multi-prong strategy to combat the opioid crisis. Dr. Suen said, "Instead of focusing on a choice between 'abstinence or harm reduction,' I encourage a reframing. Just like everything else in medicine, there is no one size fits all. So why not first explore the patient's goals and offer options based on their needs?"
