Gato Gourley, MSc
Overview
Gato Ian Gourley is the Action Research Center for Health Equity (ARC) Division Manager. He has worked with ARC for over 7 years. He is very excited to be supporting the newly created Division of Health Equity and Society at ZSFG in order to further the ARC’s mission and continue its growth with the Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative. He is extremely passionate about the ARC’s mission and is deeply committed to pursuing social justice and health equity.
He has an MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz where he graduated with honors in the major. He has previously worked with Medeem, a social enterprise, where he managed development and implementation of software and process solutions for Medeem US and Medeem Ghana. Prior to this, he worked to develop an information management system with local government to support evidence-based decision making for development planning in northern Ghana as a member of the Engineers Without Borders Canada Governance and Rural Infrastructure team. During his university years and the years following, Mr. Gourley has worked with the University of California Atlas of Global Inequality, an online atlas mapping global indicators of health and wealth disparities.
