Overview

Amy Lara is a Research Data Analyst at BHHI, where she works to support research among the unhoused population and people experiencing housing insecurity. Her background in providing direct services and ensuring the delivery of quality health education in disproportionately underserved communities continues to guide her career in public health. Driven by a commitment to deliver culturally and ethnically appropriate best practices in health, her career in health education led her toward a path in program planning and implementing quality improvement strategies to increase access to health care services within communities of color. A Spanish speaker and daughter of immigrant parents from México, she was born and raised in Oakland, CA, and currently resides there. She received her Master of Public Health from The George Washington University, Milken Institute School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from UCLA.
